STANDARDS KEEP COMMUNITIES AFFORDABLE

Our process includes development standards established over the years that have been designed to maintain project efficiency. What we’ve been able to create at DHI is a mechanism for sound site acquisition and pre-construction planning, as well as strong relationships with financing institutions.

HOW WE DO IT

Downtown housing improvement, inc. Invests federal, state, local and private donations and funds into these pivotal Miami-Dade County neighborhoods through rehabilitation and rebuilding homes. Seeing the potential to redeem these homes as an asset for the neighborhoods. After purchasing or conveyance of the property major renovations of this structure is transformed into a beautiful, energy efficient and safe home, ready to be filled with children’s laughter once again.

DHI stimulates local commerce.

The impact of the DHI objectives reach far beyond the single family purchasing the home. Every community development we build brings revenue for local contractors and partners. Local contractors are employed to complete the work, the city benefits from increased tax revenue, local lenders and title companies benefit from the purchase, and the community has fewer vacancies. DHI helps reverse a slowing economy and troubled job market. Plus new residents bring additional revenue to local businesses when they move in.

Ensuring the safety of our work sites is the most important service we provide, not only to our clients but also to our employees and subcontractors and the public in and around our active construction sites.

Given this important responsibility, we set a higher standard for safety excellence than that required by the letter of the law. We often partner with OSHA and other safety professionals to exceed safety thresholds throughout both our firm and the industry. At Downtown Housing Improvements , 85% of our project managers and superintendents are OSHA trained and certified.

Similarly, we recognize that we are an extension of our clients in the view of the public and any neighbors to our project sites. We deeply respect the role we play in upholding the public perception and value of our clients’ brands and institutions.

We also take our stewardship of the environment very seriously. Environmental controls and protection are a meaningful part of our project-specific plans and a strong focus of our staff.
